Description
Restore the Original Front Torsion-Bar Adjustment Warning
This factory-style reproduction replaces a faded, damaged or missing GM 15772975 front torsion bar adjustment warning label. It recreates the original yellow-and-black bilingual CAUTION / ATTENTION design used on selected GM trucks, SUVs and vans equipped with adjustable front torsion-bar suspension.
The label warns that adding or removing equipment can affect front suspension trim height and that torsion-bar adjustment must remain within the Z-height range specified by the applicable service manual.
This listing includes one newly manufactured aftermarket reproduction made for GMT Central. It is not a genuine GM or New Old Stock part.
Original and Superseded Reference Numbers
- Current GM service reference: 15772975
- Superseded reference: 15037294
- Superseded reference: 15995817
- Catalog descriptions: Front Torsion Bar Adjust Warning Label, Caution Label and Info Label
A vehicle carrying one of the superseded numbers may use this reproduction when the complete wording, dimensions and artwork match.
What the Warning Means
A torsion bar functions as the spring in the applicable front suspension. The front suspension height is adjusted through the torsion-bar adjustment mechanism at the support or crossmember.
GM service information instructs the technician to measure the front suspension Z-height after torsion-bar installation or adjustment. Turning the adjustment bolt changes the Z-height, but the final setting must remain within the vehicle-specific specification.
This label is informational only. It is not a replacement for the appropriate factory service procedure, alignment equipment or qualified suspension service.
Configuration-Based Fitment
GM reference 15772975 appears in catalogs for a broad range of Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer vehicles. It is not automatically correct for every vehicle within those model ranges.

Verify Before Ordering
Confirm at least one of the following before purchasing:
- The original label shows GM reference 15772975.
- The original label shows superseded reference 15037294 or 15995817.
- The complete English/French wording and yellow-and-black artwork match this reproduction.
- The vehicle has an adjustable front torsion-bar suspension and the same original label location.
Do not order by model year or model name alone. GM used different front suspension designs across related vehicles, drivetrains and weight classes.
This label is not intended for:
- Vehicles with a coil-spring, coil-over or strut-type front suspension
- Vehicles whose original label has different wording or dimensions
- A vehicle selected only because it falls within a broad catalog year range
- Use as a substitute for suspension inspection, alignment or service information
If your original warning label differs, submit a clear photograph and dimensions through the GMT Central custom label request page.
Original Installation Location
GM catalog diagrams associate this warning label with the front torsion-bar support or crossmember assembly. Install the reproduction at the vehicle’s original label location whenever that location can be identified.
Use the remaining original label, adhesive outline, donor-vehicle photography or model-specific service documentation to confirm placement. Do not move it to an underhood panel solely because that location is easier to see.

Trim-to-Fit Construction

Complete all trimming while the backing remains attached. Use sharp scissors or a precision craft knife, a straightedge and a protected cutting surface.
Installation
- Compare the reproduction with the original reference number, artwork and dimensions.
- Identify the original location on the torsion-bar support or crossmember.
- Test-fit the label before removing the backing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit every vehicle in the application list?
No. The vehicle must have the matching adjustable front torsion-bar suspension and original warning-label configuration. Model and year alone do not establish fitment.
Does this replace GM 15037294 or 15995817?
GM catalog data identifies 15772975 as the later service reference replacing those numbers. The complete artwork and dimensions should still be compared before ordering.
Does it fit a two-wheel-drive vehicle?
Some heavy-duty or specialized two-wheel-drive GM vehicles use torsion-bar front suspension, while many half-ton two-wheel-drive vehicles do not. Inspect the suspension and match the original label rather than relying only on drivetrain.
Where is the label installed?
Catalog diagrams associate the label with the torsion-bar support or crossmember. Use the original label, adhesive outline or vehicle-specific reference material to confirm the exact location.
What is Z-height?
Z-height is a service-manual trim-height measurement used when checking or adjusting the front suspension. The correct specification varies by vehicle and configuration.
Can this label be used as an adjustment guide?
No. It is a warning and reference label. Torsion-bar adjustment should follow the applicable service procedure and be followed by appropriate ride-height and alignment checks.
Is this an original General Motors label?
No. This is a newly manufactured aftermarket reproduction made for GMT Central. It is not a genuine GM or New Old Stock part.
Is the label pre-cut?
No. It is supplied trim-to-fit so the installer can create a clean finished edge around the artwork.
