Description
Restore the Early GMT800 A/C Refrigerant Information Label
Bring your engine bay back to a factory-fresh appearance with this reproduction GMT800 A/C Refrigerant Information label for matching 1999–2002 GM trucks and SUVs.
The bilingual English/French artwork recreates the early-spec underhood R-134a label, including the refrigerant charge table, high-pressure warning, service cautions, airbag notice, diesel-related note and other information shown on the original design.
This reproduction is associated with GM service reference 15171402. GM catalog records also identify 15171402 as the service replacement for the earlier reference number 15171383. An original 1999–2001 vehicle may therefore show the earlier number even when the complete artwork and early-spec charge table match this reproduction.
Early-Spec Refrigerant Charge Table
This design displays the following R-134a charge information:
| Vehicle and A/C configuration | Metric charge | U.S. charge |
|---|---|---|
| Suburban or Yukon XL with front and rear A/C | 1.4 kg | 3.0 lb |
| Utility vehicle, including Tahoe or Yukon, with front and rear A/C | 1.23 kg | 2.7 lb |
| Utility vehicle with front A/C only | 0.8 kg | 1.8 lb |
| Pickup with front A/C only | 0.9 kg | 1.9 lb |
Service warning: These are the values reproduced from this particular early-spec label design. Refrigerant capacity can vary according to model, engine, front-only or front-and-rear HVAC configuration, production revision and previous vehicle modifications. Always verify the correct charge through the original vehicle label and applicable service information before servicing the system.

Fitment is controlled by the original label artwork and HVAC configuration—not by model year alone. The same vehicle family may use a different label because of production date, engine, body series, front-only versus auxiliary rear A/C, export market or another service revision.
Not intended for:
- 2003–2004 GMT800 vehicles using the later label design
- 2005–2006 GMT800 vehicles using the later final-spec label design
- Vehicles whose original charge values differ from 3.0 / 2.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 lb
- Vehicles converted to a different refrigerant
- Applications with a different bilingual layout, warning arrangement or GM reference number unless the complete artwork is otherwise confirmed

Trim-to-Fit Construction
The label is intentionally printed on an oversized sheet with a visible white keyline. This gives the installer room to create a clean finished edge around the artwork before application.
Complete all trimming while the protective backing remains attached. Use sharp scissors or a precision craft knife, a metal straightedge and a protected cutting surface.
Installation
- Compare the new label with the original artwork, service reference and charge table.
- Identify and test-fit the label at the original underhood or fan-shroud location.
- Trim carefully along the printed white keyline while the backing remains attached.
- Remove the old label and as much remaining adhesive as practical.
- Clean the mounting surface with a residue-free cleaner appropriate for the material.
- Allow the surface to dry completely and cool before installation.
- Peel back a small section of the liner and align one edge of the label.
- Apply gradually from one side to the other while pressing outward to reduce trapped air.
- Press firmly across the complete surface, paying particular attention to the edges.
- Allow the adhesive to set for approximately 24 hours before washing or exposing it to cleaners or solvents.
Do not install the label over dirt, grease, loose paint, heavy texture or a hot surface. Gentle warming may assist adhesion in cool conditions, but avoid excessive heat that could distort the vinyl or mounting panel.
Care
Clean the installed label with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner appropriate for vinyl. Wipe gently from the center toward the edges. Avoid abrasive brushes, aggressive solvents and high-pressure spray directed at the label edges.
Shipping
Free shipping to all 50 U.S. states.
Most products ship within approximately 2–5 business days. Typical delivery is approximately 6–13 days from order placement, depending on the carrier, destination and production schedule. Tracking information is provided when available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this fit every 1999–2002 GMT800?
No. This product reproduces one early-spec label configuration. Compare the original part number, complete artwork and refrigerant charge table before ordering.
Why might my original label show 15171383 instead of 15171402?
GM catalog records identify 15171402 as the later service replacement for 15171383. An earlier vehicle may therefore carry the superseded number while using substantially the same early-spec service-label configuration. The complete artwork remains the controlling reference.
What is the difference between this label and the 2003–2004 version?
The later GMT800 label uses revised service information and artwork. Do not choose solely by vehicle appearance; use the model year, original part number and complete charge table.
Does the label work for front and rear A/C?
The printed table includes both front-only and front-and-rear A/C configurations. Verify that the row corresponding to your vehicle matches its original service information.
Is this an original General Motors label?
No. This is a newly manufactured aftermarket reproduction made for GMT Central. It is not a genuine GM, New Old Stock or licensed General Motors part.
Is it pre-cut?
No. The label is supplied oversized with a white keyline and must be trimmed before installation.
Can I use this label as the only source when charging the A/C system?
No. The label is intended for restoration and service reference. Confirm the correct refrigerant type and charge through vehicle-specific service information, particularly when the system or vehicle has been modified.
